up north for the season

We are in Ohio now till oct. - doing art shows in the midwest and some in the east. - the spring/summer show list is on the website http://www.bodyscapes.com/ I just found out that I was voted the audiance favorite at the seattle erotic art show for the second year in a row. its interesting to be part of the world of erotic art. I am making contact with people that I would never connect with at the street art festivals. I have six images choosen to be included in a book of erotic art that will be published later this year. It will have 30 photographers represented. Hope to do more shooting this summer in my friend, Chris Maher's studio in toledo. I brought a box of little toys etc with me for the shoots. I have a few good models lined up in this area - but could always use more! Working on some new work now - not bodyscapes - but funny and somewhat erotic in a very different way - but its not ready for prime time yet!

DETROIT DIRTY SHOW

Second and last weekend of the current Detroit Dirty Show is coming up. http://www.dirtyshow.org/
An interesting event - more like a big club - hundreds of erotic art pieces from around the world, entertainment, drinks, etc. My work is in the main display and in the "store" - check it out ! It is a very different experience.

Just got back from Coconut Grove art show, in Miami - cold but still very busy and successful. Hope to get into the studio soon to do some new work. Just returned from the coconut grove art show in Miami - nice show - lots of people and sales! The second weekend of the Detroit Dirty Show is coming up - fri and sat - an intersting event with a lot of erotic art from around the world, entertainment, drinks etc - a very unique (adults only ) experience. check out : http://www.dirtyshow.org/news.htm

Got four photos accepted in the Rochester NY Erotic Arts Fesitval - March 27 - 28 . Sounds like a very classy event.

Hope to get into the studio soon for more new work - especially more with two models - the ones from last year were very successful.

The art shows in Florida have been COLD but this weekend should be better - I am always amazed at the number of people who brave the cold and the rain to buy art! The artists sure appreciate it! This weekend I will be at a new show in City Place, West Palm Beach - should be interesting.
   I am planning some new work in the studio soon - gathering up little toys etc for the next shoot. I have been busy right now getting ready to teach a course on the Tao Te Ching - a course for the life long learning program , held at Vero Beach art museum. My old psychology stuff comes out now and then - its my third year to teach eastern philosophy and psych of consciousness in this program.
      There are two good ideas from the bodyscape contest from before christmas - I am going to try them out and see which one works best before I announce the winner of the contest.
    If you haven't seen it - check out the poster on the "new bodyscapes" page or on the special offers page on the website - the poster is selling well. A customer just told me that she saw one in her friend's apartment in Switzerland!

Off to St. Petersbug Fl tomorrow to take a painting workshop! I have never been to art school so I am going to try to pick up some new techniques etc - not for the bodyscapes but for other things that i might do in the future. Also - went to dinner in vero beach tonight - and gave a card to the barmaid - a possible model for future bodyscapes. My models aren't professional fashion models - usually volunteers - and people that I know. Mostly women I meet at art shows. Just did a new bodyscape - its going to be called "happy hour" - keep your eye on the website to see it soon.

Welcome to my Bodyscape blog! I hope you will enjoy the posts on the latest bodyscape news etc - and feel free to offer comments yourself. I will have a link on my site about the blog and will include the link in an email newsletter to customers - so soon people will know about it!

      My studio is in Vero Beach Fl but we are in Ohio in the summer - so I usually don't shoot when I am up north. But this year was different - my friend (and my web designer) Chris Maher let me use his studio in Ohio - and I did some new work. I was going to show the Bodyscapes at the Sausalito Art Festival in California and wanted to have some images that related to that area - so I did one of the Golden Gate Bridge - it will be on the web very soon - check the travel gallery. By the way - the travel gallery got so large, that we broke it into two sections - travel and foreign travel.

     Back in Florida now - just did some shooting - working on an image with a Bass fishing boat - hope to have it up on the site within a few weeks - sometimes I like to shoot the same concept with several models before I decide which one to go with.   Different landscapes - different effects!
